I know well my essential obligations not exclusively to the specialists yet to the patients also. Tolerant stream is one of my fundamental assignments. Along these lines, doing it for over 10 years has truly helped me learn by heart the errand that I am assumed and shouldn't do. Broadened obligations, furthermore, furnish me with more abilities improvement. In any case, I despite everything accept that focusing on my work as a clinician, to the specialists, and to the patients is my vital aspect for having the option to perform what is anticipated from me for this specific occupation. Furthermore, I realize I have buckled down for that. For me, the most indistinct, and furthermore missing, is the compensation increment. I have been in this activity for over 13 years and my compensation has been basically the equivalent. I love my activity, that is the reason I generally buckle down for it, yet thinking about reasonableness, the way of life has been continually expanding and I realize I need to stay aware of that.â It is very baffling that my co-representatives and I are not getting genuinely normal higher pay awards. What do you consider to be your most significant achievement in this audit period? Being hands on itself and having the option to rehearse what I love doing is one of the achievements that I have increased working here. Having the option to be prepared by experts and make me go to my drawn out objective of getting into Dental Hygiene program at this junior college is an advantaged acknowledged for me. What's more, more significant pay, perhaps in light of the fact that what I have gotten a year ago 2005, gives acknowledgment to me as a representative for the decade or more that I have filled in as a Clinical Coordinator. What zones might you want to enhance your exhibition and how would you intend to do it? What can the specialists or other colleagues do to enable you to improve? Simultaneously, I get firsthand impressions of the fulfillment of the patients when they realize that they are relieved or will show signs of improvement soon. This is one of the joys I get working here. That is the reason I need to be considerably increasingly gainful. Be that as it may, obviously, I, just as my co-representatives, need to be perceived and get legitimately compensative for the commitment we delicate as clinical laborers. It has consistently been realized that extra remuneration consistently supports worker confidence and urges them to work better and become progressively profitable and valuable. What's more, to have the option to improve my abilities, I practice well grinding away and truly put my heart into what I am doing.â The specialists are persistently preparing me. What's more, in the long run, whenever given more acknowledgment to pay costs for my tutoring, I am intending to dig into a Dental Hygiene program supported by this junior college to have the option to improve more my abilities and become an increasingly gainful clinician. Different remarks? When a representative disregards the principles in the training redundantly in each class, what move do you make to ensure that the specialists get the regard they look for from the workers? I trust one of my qualities is that I know well what I am doing and that I am certain of what I do as a clinical facilitator. As I have stated, being on this activity for a ton of years has set me in a place where I am guaranteed of my capacities, and my possibilities. With respect to regard, I have confidence in the clichã © â€Å"give regard to win it†. This includes agreeing to the best possible and expert requests of the specialists, for their expert work. Furthermore, the specialists thus, provide for the representatives additionally high respect for the devotion they put on their works and give them legitimate acknowledgment. What are the territories that need improvement? I think, preparing the new representatives, particularly the new ones must be given appropriate consideration. It has consistently been acceptable to begin working with much required important experience. This will improve the clinical employees’ aptitudes and practice them considerably all the more creation them proficient and more experience with regards to initially hand practice and hands on preparing. Where do you see yourself in the following year and what steps might you want to take to arrive? Most likely in twelve months, I would be taking a couple of classes a quarter, ideally mostly finished with pre-requirements. I will even now be working fulltime and ideally be a super treatment organizer and become progressively prepared and educated in diagnosing medicines. A quite a while from now, I would like to complete my pre-imperatives and have the option to plan for dental cleanliness assessments. Obviously, I would not have any desire to leave my work so I will in any case be working fulltime, likely 38 to 40 hours out of every week. What's more, around a long time from now, I may have finished by dental cleanliness program having breezed through the assessment. Every one of these plans will help me support my insight and aptitudes, yet in addition increase a further extent of ability about my picked calling or vocation.

Through an adherence to the guidelines endorsed by the logical technique, specialists and understudies of the different logical fields look for certainties, as characterized by what can be demonstrated to truly exist; to put it plainly, they scanning for what is genuine. It is the journey to characterize reality, to ace it; maybe, to one day have the option to produce reality in a huge distribution center in the resemblance of the scene modifying remainders that litter the slopes and knolls of industrialized countries around the world. Rubric Samples For Essay Questions - Why Do Students Need These?

Rubric Samples For Essay Questions - Why Do Students Need These? The use of rubric samples for essay questions can be of huge help. The questions will be easier to write. The students will be able to get ideas, thoughts and procedures from these as they go along. The writing process will be much faster when the student is provided with this input. The three things that are very important to be included in rubric samples for essay questions are the reasons for the essay. The second thing to be noted is the main purpose of the essay. It must contain a thesis statement that explains the reason for the essay. The last thing to be included is how many paragraphs it is in. The student should write down a number and read it out loud. The students should be careful not to confuse the number with the number of sentences that the essay will have. The sentence count will be changed as the student moves on to the actual essay. One of the biggest problems students face when writing essays is not bein g able to get their ideas straight. They find it difficult to express themselves clearly and accurately. This makes them run the risk of saying the wrong thing, leaving out a single word or changing their opinions several times during the essay. This happens because they are not clear on what their thesis statement is.The first idea is to keep the first paragraph to the most important concept that the student wishes to express. This is where they begin to explore the ideas and formulate a thesis statement. The rest of the paragraphs in the essay will then progress to the rest of the ideas. The one idea in the first paragraph is what they will want to get across in the rest of the paragraphs. The student may decide to include some references in the essay about certain topics. The reason why these references are needed is to make sure that there is enough information included in the essay. They do not need to provide too much detail, but it should not be overlooked either. The reason f or the reference should be included in the rubric samples for essay questions so that the student does not need to repeat it to the instructor.Writing an essay takes a lot of concentration. When students find they are getting distracted or can't think straight, they can get a lot of stuck notes. These notes become pages and eventually are too much to get through. The other reason why it is important to use rubric samples for essay questions is to make sure that the essays are not only coherent, but also structured. When writing an essay, the professor or teacher will be interested in the structure of the essay. When the essays are all very structured, this is an indication that the student has taken great care in the assignment. It also shows that the student has taken some time to think about his or her work and has some creativity.

DESIGN THINKING Summative Assignment DSM5A1 – Graeme Campbell Lorenzo Robuschi S00607430 05/12/2014 Define the Concept of Design Thinking Design Thinking The global corporate world is engaged in the continuous process of searching for ways in which it can improve its performance. As businesses become more and more competitive with each other, employers and business managers have to continually seek ways by means of which they can improve their performance and develop competitive strategies and edges in order to clinch leading positions. Teams and business leaders are likely to fall into the trap of tackling certain issues in the same manner all the time, ignoring other viable ways that could provide better opportunities for the same. Effective design thinking in a business situation, however, requires that no matter how simple and similar a problem may seem to the previous one, the leader seeks many options to consider before deciding on the most appropriate alternative. Besides, the leader should present these options in a manner that would allow for them to be judged equally without being biased towards some. Indeed, this can be achieved by looking at the problem from a multi-dimensional perspective. For instance, rather than giving preference to one individual working on a problem for five days, it would be effective if five individuals worked on the problem for one day. Master of Public Health Increased Awareness of Health

Question: Discuss about the Master of Public Health for Increased Awareness of Health Answer: Introduction: Increased awareness of health and illness (physical, mental or sexual) tends to improve the uptake of healthy behavior. Background: Health awareness programs raises consciousness about health-influencing factors (Tones et al., 2013). It fosters empowerment where an individual becomes capable of making informed choices and adopting "life-skills approach" (Ranganathan Lagarde 2012). Substantive evidence is available to the fact that health awareness program is strongly linked to health and health behaviors. Randomized controlled trials testing the impact of health education have demonstrated that it has potential to increase the uptake of health promoting behavior and change behavior that caused illness (Yuen Tarrant, 2014). A survey conducted by (Broekhuizen et al., 2012) found that comprehensive health awareness campaigns in North Karelia reduced consumption of the saturated fats and salts with significant transformation of dietary habits. This declined the mortality ischemic heart disease mortality by 73%. However, a weakness of evidence till date is that the not much assessment of the effect of he alth awareness programs has measured the education in terms of the duration of a program. The hypothesis that the effect of health promoting programs in addition to duration depends on the nature and quality of the learning provision is neglected. Further weakness is the short supply of this evidence being presented in Australia. Most of the evidence is available from the UK and Germany based researchers. Indigenous Australians are highly represented in obesity and Diabetes prevalence as well as other chronic illnesses (McDermot et al., 2015). This rationalizes the study being conducted in Australia and to determine the relation between long-term participation in health awareness program and increase in uptake of health behavior by people. Research Hypothesis: The central hypothesis is that effectiveness of the health awareness program on the uptake of health behavior is more with long duration and high quality of learning provision. The dependent variables of investigation include measurement of quality of a program and the duration. The independent variable is the location of the awareness program. Study design: For the quantitative investigation, deductive research approach and descriptive study design will be used. The research study will be conducted in Queensland in the indigenous areas with the duration of the survey being three months. Sampling technique: A probability sampling technique primarily stratified sampling will be used in the study and the target population mainly considered are Indigenous Australians. The sample size of 167 will be selected in this study. The study includes both female and male respondents. The inclusion criteria for the study includes- age 25-50 years, Indigenous origin and belonging to rural areas have participated in one or more health awareness programs but has no illness have chronic diseases and has taken part in health awareness programs The study excludes people who are non-Indigenous and those who have not participated in health awareness programs and those belonging to urban areas. Data collection: Both primary and secondary data will be collected for the study. The secondary data is collected from the literature review, newspaper articles, trusted websites, and books. The primary data will be collected by a survey (questionnaires based on Likert scale, interviews, telephones, website) with close-ended questions. Statistical analyses: The primary data collected, will be analyzed by Spearmans Rank Correlation coefficient, Mann-Whitney U-test, t-test (95% confidence level), one way ANOVA, and SPSS software. Cronbachs alpha will be used to test the reliability of the data. Ethical application: The applications and documents to comply with the ethical standards will be submitted to Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Research Ethics Committee." Limitation of the study: Geographical location may be the major limitation that may give biased data. On the other hand, different people may interpret the survey questions in a different way due to language barrier which may disturb the accuracy of results. However, the questionnaire will be prepared in a language spoken by a majority of the respondents. The significance of the study: The study is significance in developing knowledge about how quality and duration of health awareness programs affects the uptake of the health behavior by Indigenous people in Australia. Therefore, this study assists in designing and developing programs that maximize the effectiveness and increases the success rate. Increase in health consciousness through awareness campaigns and higher engagement of people in health promoting activities will decrease the rate of debilitating conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, Diabetes, and other chronic illness. Consequently, it will reduce the morbidity and mortality rate. References Broekhuizen, K., Kroeze, W., van Poppel, M. N., Oenema, A., Brug, J. (2012). Role Models Essays - FIFA 100, Social Psychology, Kabyle People

Role models Introduction Today, sport stars and other athletes are looked up to by all ages. Everyone loves them. They appear on television, there as fame as film stars, and do this with the entire world watching. No wonder we make heroes out of our favorites. They are seen, as heroes because they can do things that most of us can't. But if you examine athletes while they're not on the court or on the field, you can see what they are like in every dimension. Athletes have many positive and negative sides that affect their public face and both benefit and harm their abilities to become role models and they encourage there fans to become like them rather positive or negative. Today, athletes are known for wealth, privilege, and fame, because of their talent, salary, and positions as leaders, it's inevitable that we admire them. We can learn quite a lot from role models like determination and confidence because we try to be like them, you have to love a sport in order to do it well. When we look at athletes, normally you would say that they do everything good and positive, that's how they are when they are on TV or something, but real life do as much bad as they do good. In the news all the time, we hear about people like Stan Collymore or Roy Keane had a fight or something, it will not only affect there reputation but it will make children or even adults that look up to them behave like them. Role Models could give a good impression to someone and make their parents or someone proud but they could also give people bad impressions like taking drugs or having lots of alcohol. I have made a table below of a list of role models that give good impressions and the ones who give bad impressions. Positive Impression Negative Impression Thorpe Maradona Ronaldo Hidetoshi Nakata Gary Liniker Paul Merson Tony Adams Eric Cantona Casiraghi Stan Collymore John Fashinu Bruce Gobblar Zidane Romario Well your probably thinking why these people are positive or negative role models, so here's a brief explanation what I think they are positive or negative. Positive Impressions Thorpe, because it he won all medals that he was in for swimming, he was a good athlete to look up to. Casiraghi, I say that he is a good role model, because is still injured and still gets paid, plays for Chelsea but loves to play football so he wants to leave the club and join any team even lower divisions. Gary Liniker, he was one of England's best footballers and as far as we know he hasn't done anything bad in his life. Tony Adams, an Arsenal defender, you would probably think he is a bad impression because he use to drink a lot, but I say he is a good impression because he stopped drinking for the sake of his health, career and sport. Negative Impressions Maradona, he is known as one of the worlds greatest footballers of all time, but he gives a really bad impression because people tend to copy who they look up to and Maradona takes a lot of drugs and cheated in football, using his hands instead of head. Hidetoshi Nakata, Japan's first player to play abroad and Japans best player was not really a good impression because in the World Cup he wasn't really bothered to sing his own National Anthem and in Copa America Japan was invited but he rejected the International Callup. Eric Cantona, former Manchester United player, because he use to foul a lot in football and done a flying kick at someone on live T.V. Stan Collymore, because slapped his girlfriend. John Fashinu, because he use to set-up matches so he could score lots of goals and win. Bruce Gobblar, former Liverpool goalkeeper, because people use to pay him to let goals in and lose. Zidane, Juventus footballer, because he wanted to leave he told everyone his wife wanted to go to Spain so he could leave the club. Romario, was one of Brazils top strikers, in my opinion he is a bad role model, because he use to always bunk the training sessions and sometimes not even attending football matches.

Jacobs is currently the Creative Director of the French design house Louis Vuitton. In 1997, Jacobs was appointed Creative Director of luxury French fashion house, Louis Vuitton, where he created the companys first ready-to-wear line. Jacobs has collaborated with many popular artists for his Louis Vuitton collections. Vuitton has worked in conjunction with Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami and most recently American artist Richard Prince and rapper Kanye West. As of 2011, Jacobs remains the Creative Director for Louis Vuitton. Marc Jacobs has the midas touch and an innate ability to design clothes that people want to wear. Whether he designs a satchel or a shoe its always something everyone wants. From grunge to prom, from private jet to Tokyo nightclub, he has an outfit that suits. His workload includes Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc and Louis Vuitton a titanic selection of back to back collections but he still has time to build a world class contemporary art collection and dress in pigeon costumes at his annual fancy dress party. He has caught the fitness bug like so many male fashion designers. His muses include Sofia Coppola, Charlotte Rampling, Winona Ryder, Dakota Fanning, Victoria Beckham all have been photographed by Juergen Teller for Marc Jacobs ad campaigns (Mrs Beckham was hidden inside a Marc Jacobs shop bag after Juergen persuaded her that she was just a product). John Stuart, former CEO of Quaker, once said, if this company were split up, I would give you the property, plant and equipment and I would take the brands and trademarks and I would fare better. This commonly held belief illustrates the immense value of the brand today, but how do you create and manage a star brand? Perhaps this question is relatively easy for marketing and brand managers, but what about at board level, where the buck really stops? Bernard Arnault, Chairman of LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Moi t Hennessy , the worlds largest maker of luxury goods), appears to have some of the answers. LVMH is a paradox in itself. A company that makes and sells products that nobody actually needs. A recipe for disaster? A managers nightmare? Far from it LVMHs combined revenue was estimated at $11 billion in 2001, with a market capitalization of $27 billion. With Arnault at the helm, this organization has gone from a small clothing manufacturer on the verge of ruin to a conglomerate of nearly 50 star brands including Dom Perignon, TAG Heuer and Christian Dior. According to Arnault, one key to success is his management technique. The process of creating a star brand begins with radical innovation and, for that, artists must be totally free from financial or marketing concerns. He firmly believes that If you think and act like a typical manager around creative people with rules, policies, data on customer preferences, and so forth you will quickly kill their talent. It is only later, when the product is being manufactured, that he introduces the strict, almost militant processes that ensure profitability. Take, for example, John Galliano and his dresses made out of newspaper surely the most impractical product imaginable. But when they were sent down the cat-walk, Arnault did not bat an eyelid. Consequently, when Dior sold dresses in newspaper-printed fabric for a considerable profit, Arnault was proved right. Star brands, in his opinion, are in themselves a paradox. They must simultaneously be timeless, modern, fast-growing and highly profitable. Arnault is keenly aware of the crucial role he plays in creating such an entity. He observes how many brands have the potential to be stars but they are poorly managed, and by this we are not talking of the marketing manager alone the problem often runs through the heart of most major organizations. If you continually pose these questions to consumers and analyze the findings, it becomes increasingly simple to pick up on small irritations or concerns that, in the future, could present massive problems for your brand. (2) See the brand as both an object and a person. Viewing the brand as an object increases the value of analysis and plays a fundamental and consistent role you are selling something to people. On the other hand, the brand as a person enables you to understand the delivery of this role and how well it fits into your corporate culture. This way you can become involved with the projection and promotion of the brand without ever losing sight of the bigger picture. (3) Look at brand promise to enable successful advertising.

Inside Job by Charles Ferguson Movie Review Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 1

Inside Job by Charles Ferguson - Movie Review Example Another power montage is put together towards the middle of the film as images of the Hamptons are placed on the screen. The film makes great use of visual imagery and music to create a sense of on screen irony that cleverly demonstrates the devious absurdity of the situation and financial crisis. As the film progresses, it explores a number of experimental visual and narrative techniques. One such narrative technique is the split screen format. This allow the filmmakers to implement an almost cubist like the articulation of a protest rally, giving the viewer a more complex picture of the actual occurrence. There is a continued understanding that the verbal narrative can only be fully grasped through adequate visual components. For instance, after Matt Damon discusses the drastic unemployment rate, the film cuts to empty buildings with a slower and more somber editing pace. While the buildings may not even be located in the region that is being talked about, they have a sophisticated and visually appealing architecture that adds to the film’s overall narrative appeal. The film’s actual narrative is told in a highly engaging and effect way. The filmmakers implement the narrative star power of Matt Damon to relay the story in-between interviews with witnesses and field experts. Indeed, it’s been noted that â€Å"This film is as gripping as any thriller. Aided by some fascinating interviews, Ferguson lays out an awful story†.The film also indicates that the same individuals that started the crisis are still in power.

The Global Financial Crisis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3750 words

The Global Financial Crisis - Essay Example As the discussion declares there are similarities in the regulatory responses that have been given by different nations to the current financial crisis. The responses mainly touch on improved liquidity, management of risks, and lowering leverages. Enhanced insurance on investment and banking sector are other key response. The effects were severe in the developed countries like United States. In this regard, different countries reacted to the crisis identifying the opportunities and the associated challenges. The countries in the OECD advocated for a joint effort to have international standardization of regulatory policies. The main concerns are stimulation of demand in a given economy, improving liquidity, preventing foreclosures of mortgages and improving access to financing by for the SMEs and giant investors. There is a focus in risk reduction through investment in insurance. From this paper it is clear that the current global crisis began in 2007, in some countries, and deepened in 2008.1 Some of the factors that may contribute to financial crisis include application of similar operational strategies by players in the market, changes in the banking business, excessive leverage, changes in regulations and corporate governance, and failure of government policies on the financial sector. Government policies regulate the financial sector within in a country and the operations with a global business partner. The failures in some of these policies could have contributed greatly to the current situation. To fix the situation and mitigate for future crises, various governments have enacted some monetary policies. The current global financial crisis had other related problems like food crisis especially to the developing countries as was, and continues to be, witnessed in the horn of Africa.3 The financial reforms to manage the crisis must then focus on the other financial instruments controlling the economy of the country.

Even though there many additional uses of internet but we are going discuss about 4 main topics in this research paper. IPTV: Internet protocol Television(IPTV) is an assembly in which Television services are distributed over an IP network in a digitized form. So we can say that it uses the existing broadband network to deliver us a TV service which is more reliable, efficient and data is 100% digital, thus improving the overall quality over an analogue TV VOIP: Voice Over Internet Protocol(VOIP) is a system in which voice conversation can be conveyed over the IP network. The end user in a VOIP network has the authority to make telephone calls over the Broadband network. The Network used in such type of connections can be through the internet which makes it global or Intranet which makes it local the Inside Network of the company. Cloud Computing: Cloud Computing is a process in which data is stored in a Large centralized server or data storage unit. Thus providing an online access to the stored data as per requirement of the end user. The data stored in the cloud not only is shared my multiple users at the same time but also can be reallocated as per demand of the end user. Thus reducing the storage, power and space of data by using the same data for multiple users. MIRACAST: Miracast is basically a HDMI based dongle which is used for live streaming of Video and Audio channel without using an Access point. So a device which uses a point to point network technology which allows different devices to connect to each other using Wi-fi direct thus allowing them to share live streamed data. Now we will have an in-depth discussion of each and every topic separately discussing about their architecture, functioning, advantages etc. 4. IPTV 4.1 Introduction IPTV is basically an internet based television service which uses networking and architecture methods of the IP system over a Packet switching network structure. IPTV has 3 main groups in which it can be classified Live Television Time-Shift Program Video on Demand IPTV uses a set-top box which uses a broadband IP data network to access channels, subscription services and other multimedia services over and safe and end to end network. IPTV services are sometimes bundled with internet access and VOIP services altogether over the same infrastructure. IPTV is not as simple as someone watching a video over the internet. IPTV connection to home provided by telecom companies uses optical fiber and digital subscriber lines (DSL) to set up a link towards a housing compound. For Cable operators they use a hybrid fiber co-axial (HFC) cable to provide a broadband connection to the subscriber. IPTV incorporates the procurement, processing and safe delivery of all video content over an IP based Setup. The service provider uses various other service providers like satellite TV carriers, cable TV carriers, Telephone companies and private network operators to bundle up a single service which is provided to the end user. Figure. 11 shows the basic block diagram for a simplified IPTV system      Fig-11(Simplified IPTV network) 4.2 Features of IPTV There are some notable features of IPTV listed below Interactive TV: Rather than providing a half-duplex connection of the rudimentary cable TV connection, IPTV delivers us a two-way connection thus providing us an interactive TV packaged with services like High definition TV(HDTV),interactive games, learning programs, High speed internet browsing many more. Time Shift: IPTV when bundled with a digital video recorder (DVR) provides the end user the capability to record programs as per his choice. Thus providing him an option to time shifting of programming content. There are service providers who provide 7 days’ worth of data to be recorded in the DVR. Personalization: Due to a full-duplex bi-directional connection between the service provider and the end user, personalization option of the set-top box is available. The user can personalize what to watch, when to watch as per his comfort. Low Bandwidth Requirement: IPTV technology allows the service provider to stream only one channel which the end user has demanded rather than delivering each and every channel subscribed by the user Thus allowing the service provider to conserve bandwidth and reducing cost. Accessible to Multiple Devices: End user have the option of using their mobile, computers laptops to access the IPTV services instead of using television. 4.3 Architecture of IPTV The diagram (Fig-12) given below shows us the architecture of IPTV Fig- 12-IPTV System Architecture The functional blocks of IPTV architecture is given below Super Head End: The channels from the national broadcasters enter the IPTV network from here. The content here is processed, prepared and stored for transmission. Core Network: IP/MPLS Network technologies are used for transporting the traffic and to gain access to the network. Access Network: IPTV data streams are distributed to the DSLAMs Regional Head End: All the area specific local content is added to the network here. End User Premises: This is the termination point for the IPTV data stream. All Data is viewed at the customer end here. One super head available in the network can be used to serve millions of customers in the network by processing the video channels common to end users across the whole area. The IPTV delivery system is constructed in such a way that it can cover a large expanse of territory over the hierarchy of structure built to deliver the video content. Offices are located in each territory which are specially constructed to handle area specific local program and channels. 4.4 IPTV Networking Technologies The diagram (Fig-13) shows the structure of IPTV and Standardization bodies Fig-13 (IPTV Activities standardization bodies) DLNA: Digital Living Network Alliance is used for setting up the home network. HGI: Home Gateway Initiative sets up the standard adjoining the gateway between end user home network and broadband connection ISMA: Internet Streaming Media Alliance sets up the broadcast of the AVC video over IP. DSL Forum: Digital Subscriber Line is used for remote-management of residential gateways and set-top boxes. ITU: International Telecommunication Union standardizes the Distribution and access network architecture. ETSI: European Telecommunications Standards Institute standardizes the IP network used for transmission of the IPTV. ATIS: Automatic Terminal Information Service is standardizing the end to end IPTV architecture including contribution and distribution 4.5 Advantages of IPTV The signals which are used IPTV service s are 100% digital signals so better quality and easier to propagate. IPTV works on the existing internet connection, So if there is an available internet connection only the set-top box is needed to be installed and IPTV services can be used. IPTV services doesn’t require any kind of wires to get its signal. So a wireless system reduces the overhead of wires and wear tear of the wires with time. Programs can be stored in servers and can be viewed in accordance to the will of the end user thus providing flexibility. 5. VOIP 5.1 Introduction VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a process of communication in which the user can make telephone calls over the IP network. To transmit voice Signals/Conversation over the existing Data network (Wireless/Broadband) using Internet protocol VOIP is used. VOIP technology can be used over the internet as well as over the local intranet for communication within the company or special private network which are used specially for long distance calls.

History of Home Schooling Essay -- essays papers

History of Home Schooling Before public schools emerged, children were educated in the home by their parents. They were taught arithmetic, practical skills, and to read and write. Some wealthy families preferred hiring a tutor for their children (Koetzsch, 1997). In the 1840s, prominent leaders such as Horace Mann lead a movement to institute public schools in the United States (Thattai, 2001). These reformers argued that public schools would create good citizens, unite society, and prevent crime and poverty. As a result of their efforts, public elementary schools evolved in American society by the end of the 19th century. Massachusetts was the first state to pass a compulsory attendance law, ruling that all children had to attend at least elementary school (Thattai, 2001). By 1918, all states had the compulsory attendance law. Catholics weren’t happy with the public education system, so they instituted private schools (Thattai, 2001). When public institutions emerged, home schooling nearly vanished in the United States (Koetzsch, 1997). Education critics began voicing concerns about public schools in the 1960’s (Hess, 2002). Some of the complaints against public schools included, preaching alien values, failing to adequately educate, and adopting unhealthy approaches to child development (Hess, 2002). Many parents joined the de- schooling movement based on a popular book by John Holt called How Children Learn. John Holt was a professor in Boston, who believed that children are born with the desire to learn and educate themselves. The book states that all children need the following for a successful education; materials, access to the â€Å"real world†, emotional support, freedom to explore, and time to assess idea... ...ws of home schooling in the state of Maryland. 2nd Amendment Paper

When I think about the dreams of the founders I think about the amendments. These amendments represented their core beliefs. When I think about that I look at society and think how well have the amendments been followed. In a sense most of the amendments have been followed well, but in the last 20 or 30 years that has been declining rapidly. The 1st amendment, probably the easiest to follow is being silently fought. Now it may not be illegal to say something but by the time you say it you might have wished it was.People are beat to a bloody pulp because their opinion of the president, or even worse their favorite sports team. What has this nation come to when we beat a living person to a bloody pulp for the sports team that they like! I think we need to take a step back and look at ourselves for a second. The 2nd amendment is our first freedom. For the last 100 years people have slowly been trying to tax and regulate our right and freedom to bear arms. The 2nd amendment states that t heir should be a militia ready for times of war. It does not say an army, a militia. If I remember correctly the definition of militia is a military force raised by civilians to take place of an army in an emergency. Now how are we supposed to act like a military force, if the law abiding citizens of this country cannot buy a basic infantryman's rifle. Yes you can buy a modified version, but we should be able to buy any type of firearm we would like, because it is our right and our freedom. This amendment isn't about no duck hunting. It's about the people's right, freedom, and ability to protect themselves and their country. The 3rd amendment Is our freedom of religion. In this day and age christianity is frowned upon, at the time of our founders christianity represented the core belief system of almost every man, woman, and child. Nowadays you have atheists making it illegal to display any signs of religion, you want to put a nativity scene in front of your house, so sorry you probab ly need a permit for that, or its against your city ordnance. You want to have a christmas party at the local town/city green, no problem, only you need to call it a winter party, winter holiday party, or non denominational festive celebration, pretty insane. To make matters worse we have a president, a president the leader of a country whose motto is â€Å"IN GOD WE TRUST† is supporting the beliefs of Islam, a country who believes that America is satan. You know its bad when we have a muslim president. The constitution has been changed and twisted so much that I bet the founders are doing backflips in their graves. In a society were the sacred organization of marriage is being laughed at and challenged day to day, this isn't just a political challenge its a virtue, and morality challenge as well. This country was founded on good, christian values and after the influence of God and the Holy Ghost. Christopher Columbus talks about a calm and spiritual feeling coming over him as he studied his maps and sailed on the open waters. There is no question that God had a hand in the founding of this country. At the time of Columbus, Asia had all the necessary means and resources to sail to the new world, and almost did. But Columbus did first and opened the path for God's country, the light set on a hill. When this countries core belief system is attacked we must defend it, and if it fails we are in deep trouble. The day we take God out of everything is the day we are utterly and absolutely screwed. The founders knew that God must be at the center of our lives and that we must show Godlike attributes for this country to succeed, the amendments did a pretty good job of following the ten commandments if you think about it, for example the 2nd amendment may have something to do with those commandments that talk about coveting, and stealing?Although there are things wrong with America, and although it is painful to say there are a lot of things wrong but at then end of the day this is still the place, the Country chosen above all other countries to be an ensign unto all nations. To be the place where that great Lord Jesus the Christ will return again, where every knee shall bow and every tongue confess. Although we may be going through some rough times in America we must see the light at the end of the tunnel. When Thomas Jefferson said that there must be a separation of church and state I don't think he realized what trouble he would cause years down the road.People now think that that statement means that we must take God out of all Politics and Government, the people who believe this are sadly and utterly WRONG. The statement that Thomas Jefferson made in a letter to a friend, not even in the Constitution, stated that we must not allow the Government control the Church, and not allow the Church to control the Government. We now see what happens when people take things out of context. This country is a beautiful one and still offers more than a ny other country in the world, but that is slowly decaying, and we are rapidly becoming more and more like, other countries in the world. We must return to the founders first dream, illustrated in the amendments and expressed in their letters and personal documents. We must not remove God from our lives, when we do we decay morally and spiritually and we as a society will slowly but surely spiral out of control. God still loves us and this country. He loves us no matter what, and though we may be going through a rough time in America's history, it will all be for our profit and learning, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and boy it is a bright and glorious one. This is his country, he inspired Columbus in his studying to find this country. He inspired the founders, to go against the tight grip of England, and write a constitution and declare independence. He inspired the writers and signers of the declaration of independence, to defy a nation and become an even stronger natio n, full of love, and freedom. Now in this our darkest time we abandon our God, yet we need to remember that he has not abandoned us. The founders knew that a day would come when the constitution would be challenged, now its up to us as a nation to defend their dream. We must not give up as a nation, or even as individuals, at the end of the day there is no collective salvation, we must teach our families and our children the correct way of living, a Godlike way of living. We must try first to show faith, hope and charity to ourselves, and then our family, before we can try it as a nation. That is what we need, faith, hope, and charity. That was what the founders wanted to tell us. We must show faith hope and charity. No free government hand-outs.

Analysis Of Into The Wild By John Krakauer - 769 Words

Unhappy with his life and the path that it is on, Chris McCandless decides it is time to stray from the societal path in a pretty life changing way. Not even a month out of college he donates his life savings, sold his apartment, and packed his remaining possessions to live on the road, travelling across the United States. The young 24 year old man was found dead in the wilderness of Alaska in September of 1992 after his long journey. Into The Wild, written by John Krakauer, is the story of a man’s journey soley based on pursuing a life of non conformity. There are many who believe that McCandless was crazy for what he did and that it was his ignorance that killed him. Throughout the whole book he shuts many people out and just be†¦show more content†¦81) McCunn was a bit older that McCandless, at 35 years old, but from the look at it they both had similar impulsive like qualities, and were frequently compared to one another. Then, we also see another comparison with another man and McCandless later on in the book. This man, Everett Ruess quotes: â€Å"I have some good friends here, but no one really understands why I am here or what I do. I don’t know of anyone, though, who would have more than a partial understanding; I have gone too far alone. I have always been unsatisfied with life as most people live it. Always I want to live more intensely and richly.† (pg. 91) â€Å"No one really understands why I am here or what I do† is something that could relate to teens today, and maybe what McCandless thought was during his trip. 5 years later Chris sounds â€Å"eerily like Ruess† when he declares â€Å"I’ve decided that I’m going to live this life for some time to come. The freesome and simple beauty of it is just Khatewoda 3 too good to pass up.† (pg. 92) By reading what he has to say, it shows us that Chris just wanted to get away from the social norms and live his life the way he wanted too. But, by doing that he strayed away from any source of connection with other people, because that’s what he thought would make him happy. In reality, â€Å"happiness [is] only real when shared.† (pg. 189) During his journey in Alaska he noted this, but didn’t quite understand it himself it seems like. Efficacy Of The Intervention Post Partum Depression

Efficacy of the intervention Post partum depression can begin two weeks to couple months after delivery for a woman. It is also referred to as â€Å"the baby blues,† a feeling of stress, sadness, anxiety, loneness, and tiredness following the child’s birth (American Psychological Association [APA], 2016). As critical as it could be for the mother, post partum depression has long term consequences on the development of the child. It does not only impact the mother in providing care for the newborn, it also has numerous impacts on the families, and the larger community. APA (2016) suggested that up to 1 in 7 women experiences postpartum depression and that it can affect any woman, regardless of their marital status, first-time mothers or mothers with one or more children, easy or problem pregnancies, income, age, race or ethnicity, culture or education. Its impact may affect both the child development, and the mother interaction in respect to the child development. The whole family system is affected with perinatal loss. Many children experience unresolved grief which can be seen later on in adulthood. According to the article â€Å"siblings in families bereaved as a result of perinatal loss suffer in two ways: they mourn the loss of their expected sibling and they mourn the loss of the parents as they knew prior to the loss†. Cuba Essay Example For Students

Cuba Essay The weeks that have elapsed since that fatal event ofFebruary 15th have been making history in a mannerhighly creditable to the American government and toour citizenship. Captain Sigsbee, the commander of theMaine, had promptly telegraphed his desire thatjudgment should be suspended until investigation hadbeen made. The investigation was started at once, and75 million Americans have accordingly suspendedjudgment in the face of a great provocation. For itmust be remembered that to suppose the destruction ofthe Maine an ordinary accident and not due to anyexternal agency or hostile intent was, under all thecircumstances, to set completely at defiance the lawof probabilities. It is not true that battleships are in the habit ofblowing themselves up. When all the environing factswere taken into consideration, it was just about asprobable that the Maine had been blown up by someaccident where no hostile motive was involved, as thatthe reported assassination of President Barrios ofGuatemala , a few days previously, had really been asuicide. . . . It has been known perfectly well that Spanish hatredmight at any time manifest itself by attempts upon thelife of the American representative at Havana, ConsulGeneral Fitzhugh Lee. This danger was felt especiallyat the time of the Havana riots in January, and itseems to have had something to do with the sending ofthe Maine to Havana Harbor. The Spaniards themselves, however, looked upon the sending of the Maine as afurther aggravation of the long series of their justgrievances against the United States. They regardedthe presence of the Maine at Havana as a menace toSpanish sovereignty in the island and as anencouragement to the insurgents. A powerful Americanfleet lay at Key West and the Dry Tortugas, with steamup ready to follow the Maine to the harbor of Havanaat a few hours notice. All this was intensely hatefulto the Spaniards, and particularly to the Armyofficers at Havana who had sympathized with GeneralWeylers policy and who justly regarded GeneralWeylers recall to Spain as due to the demand ofPresident McKinley. The American pretense that theMaine was making a visit of courtesy seemed to theseSpaniards a further example of Anglo-Saxon hypocrisy. That this intense bitterness against the presence ofthe Maine was felt among the military and officialclass in Havana was perfectly well known to CaptainSigsbee, his staff, and all his crew; and they werenot unaware of the rumors and threats that means wouldbe found to destroy the American ship. It was, furthermore, very generally supposed that the Spanishpreparation for the defense of Havana had includedmines and torpedoes in the harbor. At the time whenthe Maine went to Havana, it was a notorious fact thatthe relations between the Spain and the United Stateswere so strained that that war was regarded asinevitable. If war had actually been declared whilethe Maine was at Havana, it is not likely that theSpanish would have permitted the ships departurewithou t an effort to do her harm. The Spanish harbor is now and it has been for a goodwhile past under military control; and the Americanwarship, believed by the Spanish authorities to be atHavana with only half-cloaked hostile designs, wasobliged to accept the anchorage that was assigned bythose very authorities. In view of the strainedsituation and of the Spanish feeling that nomagnanimity is due on Spains part toward the UnitedStates, it is not in the least difficult to believethat the harbor authorities would have anchored theMaine at a spot where, in case of the outbreak of war, thesubmarine harbor defenses might be effectively be usedagainst so formidable an enemy. To understand the situation completely, it must not beforgotten that the Spanish government at first madeobjection against the Maines intended visit to Havanaand, in consenting, merely yielded to a necessity thatwas forced upon it. All Spaniards regarded the sendingof the Maine to Havana as really a treacherous act onthe part of the United States, and most of them wouldhave deemed it merely a safe and precautionary measureto anchor her in the vicinity of a submarine mine. Doubtless these suggestions will be read by more thanone person who will receive them with entireskepticism. But such readers will not have beenfamiliar with what has been going on in the matter ofthe Cuban rebellion, or else they will be lacking inmemories of good carrying power. The great majority of the intelligent people of theUnited States could not, from the first, avoidperceiving that what we may call the self-destructiontheory was extremely improbable; while what we mayterm the assassination theory was in keeping with allthe circumstances. Nevertheless, although theprobability of guilt was so overwhelming, the Americanpeople saw the fairness and the necessity ofsuspending judgment until proof had been substitutedfor mere probability. And there was in no part of thecountry any disposition to take snap judgment or toact precipitately. No other such spectacle of nationalforbearance has been witnessed in our times. Unquestionably, the whole community has been intenselyeager for n ews; and it is perhaps true that certainnewspapers, which have devoted themselves for a monthor more to criticizing the sensational press, might aswell have been occupied in a more energetic effort tosupply their readers with information. The fact isthat the so-called war extras, which for many dayswere issued from certain newspaper offices at the rateof a dozen or more a day, have not seemed tocommunicate their hysteria to any considerable numberof the American people, East or West, North or South,so far as our observation goes. The situation has simply been one of a very absorbingand profound interest, while the suspense has beenvery trying to the nerves. The possibility that ourcountry might soon be engaged in war with a foreignpower has been a preoccupying thought not to bedismissed for a single hour. The whole country hasknown that a fateful investigation was in progress inHavana Harbor; that coast-defense work was beingpushed all along our seaboard; that in all theshipyards, p ublic and private, government work wasbeing prosecuted with double or quadruple forces ofmen, working by night as well as by day; thatammunition factories, iron and steel plants, and everyother establishment capable of furnishing any kind ofmilitary or naval supplies were receiving orders fromthe government and were working to the full extent oftheir capacity; that plans were being made for fittingout merchant ships as auxiliary cruisers; that ournaval representatives were negotiating abroad foradditional warships; that new regiments ofartillerymen were being enlisted for the big guns onthe seaboard; that naval recruits were being musteredin to man newly commissioned ships; that the railroadswere preparing by order of the War Department to bringthe little United States Army from western andnorthern posts to convenient southern centers; andthat while we were making these preparations Spain onher part was trying to raise money to buy ships and tosecure allies. All these matters, and m any othersrelated to them, have within these past weeks made animmense opportunity for testing the news gatheringresources of the American press. . . . When, therefore, on March 8, the House ofRepresentatives unanimously voted to place $50 millionat the unqualified disposal of President McKinley asan emergency fund for the national defense thisaction being followed by an equally unanimous vote ofthe Senate the next day it was naturally taken forgranted all over the country that the situation wasbelieved by the President to be extremely critical. Cyber Bullying : Danger And Need EssayThe continued delay of the Board of Inquiry whichhad been oscillating between Havana and Key West, conducting its proceedings in secret and maintainingabsolute reticence had naturally served to confirmthe belief that its report would show foul play; andit appeared that the President was basing his greatpreparations of war, in part at least, upon hisadvance knowledge of the evidence secured by thecommission. The unanimity of Congress in support ofthe President created an excellent impression abroad. Fifty million is a very large sum to place in thehands of one man. It might have been supposed that there would have beenmembers in both houses who would have insisted uponthe appropriation of this money for specific purposes. That not a single man was found to make objectionshowed a very great capacity for united action in atime of emergency. It also showed, of course, howgreat is the confidence that Congress and the Americanpeople repose in the honor, wisdom, and public spiritof their Presidents. At the time of the Venezuelaincident, Congress in similar manner, came unanimouslyto the support of President Cleveland. In that case, however, there was not the remotest possibility ofwar; and the episode was merely a diplomatic one inwhich it was deemed important to show that ourgovernment could rely absolutely upon the wholesupport of the people. The South on all such recentoccasions has been foremost in expressions ofpatriotism. The vote of $50 million, although an extraordinarymeasure justified only by the imminent danger of war,was clearly an act that no peace-loving man couldreasonably criticize; for preparation is often themeans by which conflict is avoided. A larger Navy wasin any case greatly desirable for our country, withits long seaboard on the Atlantic and the Pacific andits vast commerce; while the better fortification ofour principal ports was an urgent necessity. Since thepreparations that have been made so hurriedly duringthe past few weeks have been of a defensive nature, and since they have been carried out upon lines whichhad been duly considered in advance, they will havepermanent value, and there will have been involved avery small percentage of waste. If Congress had beenwise enough in the past three or four years to laydown more warships in our own yards, it would not havebeen necessary to contribute millions to foreignshipbuilders. No part of the $50 million will be squandered by theadministration; but it is to be regretted that thisemergency fund had not been already expended duringthe five preceding years by more liberalappropriations for coast defense and navalconstruction. The great shipyards of the UnitedStates, both public and private, are now at the pointwher e, with a sufficient amount of regular work to do,they would speedily be able to compete on equal termswith the best shipbuilding plants of Europe. Iron andsteel supplies are now much cheaper in the UnitedStates than anywhere else, and it is only therelatively small amount of shipbuilding that has beendemanded by our government that has made it moreexpensive to build a war vessel here than else where. In a time of real emergency, however, the resources ofthe United States would prove themselves great enoughto supply our own people and the whole world besides. The quickness and inventiveness of American mechanics, engineers, and manufacturers have no parallel inEurope. On a years notice the United States mightundertake to cope evenhanded with either the Dual orthe Triple Alliance although we have now only thenucleus of an army and the beginning of a navy, whilethe European powers have made war preparation theirprincipal business for a whole generation. It is to besuspected that one reason why the American people havebought the newspapers so eagerly during the past weeksis to be found in the satisfaction they have taken inlearning how a strictly peaceful nation like ourscould if necessary reverse the process of beatingswords into plowshares. It is true, for example, that we have built only a fewtorpedo boats and only a few vessels of the type knownas destroyers; but we have discovered that about ahundred very rich Americans had been amusingthemselves within the past few years by building orbuying splendid oceangoing, steel-built steam yacht sof high speed and stanch qualities, capable of beingquickly transformed into naval dispatch boats orarmored and fitted with torpedo tubes. Probably not asingle private Spanish citizen could turn over to hisgovernment such a vessel as the magnificent Goeletyacht, the Mayflower, which was secured by our NavyDepartment on March 16; not to mention scores of otherprivate steam yachts of great size and strength thatwealthy American citizens are ready to offer ifneeded. It is the prevailing opinion nowadays, it is true, that nothing is to be relied upon in naval war buthuge battleships, which take from two to three or fouryears to build. But if a great war were forced upon ussuddenly, it is altogether probable that Americaningenuity would devise something wholly new in the wayof a marine engine of war, just as American ingenuityimprovised the first modern ironclads. We have alreadyin our Navy a dynamite cruiser, the Vesuvius, which inactual warfare might prove more dangerous than a halfdoz en of the greatest battleships of the Europeannavies. There has just been completed, moreover, andoffered to our government, a submarine boat, theHolland, which seems to be capable of moving rapidlyfor several miles so completely submerged as to offerno target for an enemy; and it may well be that thetorpedoes discharged from an insignificant littlevessel capable of swimming below the surface like afish might prove as fatal to the battleships of anenemy as the alleged mine in the harbor of Havana wasfatal to our battleship the Maine. Nowadays, warfare is largely a matter of science andinvention; and since a country where the arts of peaceflourish and prosper is most favorable to the generaladvance of science and invention, we stumble upon theparadox that the successful pursuit of peace is afterall the best preparation for war. Another way to putit is to say that modern warfare has become a matterof machinery, and that the most highly developedmechanical and industrial nation will by virtue ofsuch development be most formidable in war. This is a situation that the Spaniards in general areevidently quite unable to comprehend. Their ideas arealtogether medieval. They believe themselves to be ahighly chivalrous and militant people, and that thepeople of the United States are really in great terrorof Spanish prowess. They think that Spain could makeas easy work of invading the United States as Japanmade of invading China. Their point of view isaltogether theatrical and unrelated to modern facts. A country like ours, capable of supplying the wholeworld with electrical motors, mining machinery, locomotive engines, steel rails, and the structuralmaterial for modern steel bridges and skyscrapers, not to mention bicycles and sewing machines, isequally capable of building, arming, and operating anunlimited number of ships of every type, and ofemploying every conceivable mechanical device forpurposes of national defense. In the long run, therefore, even if our preliminary pr eparations hadbeen of the scantiest character, we should be able togive a good account of ourselves in warfare. . . . Quite regardless of the responsibilities for the Maineincident, it is apparently true that the greatmajority of the American people are hoping thatPresident McKinley will promptly utilize the occasionto secure the complete pacification and independenceof Cuba. There are a few people in the United States we should not like to believe that more than 100 couldbe found out of a population of 75 million whobelieve that the United States ought to join handswith Spain in forcing the Cuban insurgents to lay downtheir arms and to accept Spanish sovereignty as apermanent condition under the promise of practicalhome rule. It needs no argument, of course, toconvince the American people that such a proposalreaches the lowest depths of infamy. It is much worsethan the proposition made by a few people in Europelast year that the victorious Turks should have thecountenance and supp ort of the great nations of Europein making Greece a part of the Turkish empire. For theTurks had fairly conquered the Greeks; and if Europehad kept hands off, Greece would have been reducedvery quickly to the position of an Ottoman province. But in Cuba it is otherwise. The insurgents, with nooutside help, have held their own for more than threeyears, and Spain is unable to conquer them. The peopleof the United States do not intend to help Spain holdCuba. On the contrary, they are now ready, in one wayor in another, to help the Cubans drive Spain out ofthe Western Hemisphere. If the occasion goes past andwe allow this Cuban struggle to run on indefinitely, the American people will have lost several degrees ofself-respect and will certainly not have gainedanything in the opinion of mankind.
